The Soraya by Lelo

Basics

I love how Lelo package their products – I own quite a few, preferring high quality adult toys to cheap inferiors.

All the Insignia products come with a small triple infinity brooch that you can wear proudly knowing that only other Insignia users will recognise it. It’s like being in an elite secret society; that’s a turn on in itself, or is that just me?

All of the Insignia range is waterproof. That’s right; you can take your playtime to the tub, shower, and pool. Hell, go water skiing with it. Ok that last probably isn’t a good idea. There is no way you could stay on your skis after a few minutes of switching on.

It has a simple to use tri-button control system, letting you control the intensity of the eight different vibration modes.

As standard, all Lelo products are rechargeable, so you aren’t fiddling around with batteries constantly. To avoid it going flat at the worst possible moment, I usually give it a recharge after every second use; but that is something you can trial and test yourself. They have a fairly sizeable battery life. Over four hours. The charging aperture has a self-healing membrane, so the waterproof effectiveness of the Insignia range is not compromised.

As with all Lelo products the Soraya comes in a choice of colours; pink, black or dusty rose (purple), and has a ten year warranty. How can you go past a ten year warranty on a toy?

Introduction

I have to say, I thought this review was going to be negative. My first experience with the Soraya range was painful and under stimulating. This was not the toys fault but mine. I went about using it like I have the Ina, its predecessor, for the last twelve months. But this is the new and improved version for a reason. Following the theory “if you don’t succeed, try and try again” I gave the Soraya a second chance, and boy, am I glad I did.

My friends have had their new Soraya’s for a few weeks before I got mine, and all I’d heard from them was how fantastic it was. One friend even commenting on how she had achieved her first multiple orgasm with it, and she’s had plenty of vibrators before it. In fact out of my friends I was the only one who liked the Ina – yes we all had one of those too. So I must admit I was expecting a mind blowing experience. I was disappointed.

Where I went wrong

The Ina is straighter, more bulbous and shorter. My normal course of penetration was to slide it down from my clit till it pressed at my opening, drop my hand between my thighs and insert it. When I did this with the Soraya it put it too deep with its length, and the clit stimulator was left nowhere near my clitoris. I accepted that as I do have smaller orifices and a profound mound, this product may just not work for me.

It turned out my error was that while I was used to holding the Ina lower when penetrating, the Soraya should be slipped down from the clitoris and inserted following the natural arc of your body keeping the hand grip angled between your clitoris and vagina. This may not be the case for everyone, anatomical differences and all, but once I did this, I could penetrate fully without any discomfort and have the clitoral stimulator resting near to my clitoris.

Method

You don’t need to thrust with this toy like I did with the Ina. In fact I found the best stimulation is from burying it inside you and with your palm resting lightly on the base and moving it in small circles. It gave the same stimulation as a guy being buried balls deep, circling his hips so that it allows maximum g-spot stimulation while his thumb is rubbing your clitoris. Then by slowly rubbing my palm back and forth I was able to achieve the feel of small thrusts being made, varying the speed to suit my building desire.

Outcome

Within a very short time not only did I reach climax faster than usual, but I also achieved it in a position that I usually would not be able to do so with the Ina or a man. The orgasm was intense and longer lasting continuing for minutes and the intense feeling lasting for another fifteen after that.

Conclusion

I can understand all the rave reviews of this product and why some women are able to achieve multiple orgasms for the first time with it. This vibe really is made for every woman; the Lelo Sweden engineers have done a marvellous job. I have a new best friend; who needs a man with a Soraya in your drawer. Ok so maybe it doesn’t kiss and cuddle, that will probably be the next model; but it will have you sneaking off for some quality ‘me’ time more regularly. Speaking of which….
